Makes sense given the family heritage!! Your Lydia.
Glad we had that brief conversation 9/19. So sorry it's taken this long to get back - but we have been praying...to no credit of our own. God is often reminding us to pray for Lydia, Amy and Joel.
Don't know the latest, but at the risk of sounding trite, I want to remind you that truly, God is good!
Psalm 119:68 says "God is good, and everything He does is good."
Contrary to what satan tempted Eve with - "Is God really good? (Why would He withhold "THAT" from you?" Fill in the THAT BLANK.)

A great many things in God's divine providence do not look to the eye like goodness. But faith sits down before torrents and mysteries such as these, and says, "The Lord is good, therefore all He does must be good no matter how it looks. I can wait for His explanations."

God has a purpose...to change you, and to reveal His power and grace to the world. That is the TRUTH - be free to trust His love.
He is right there with you!eunicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02991913299498878462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291356534079140277.post-88802904094200713832015-09-19T21:12:43.027-07:002015-09-19T21:12:43.027-07:00Dearest Amy,

I am asking for direction and confidence in His leading. I am asking Him to hold your baby close to His heart and also to hold you. May Christ give you strength to endure and rest in Himself. May little Lydia's body be healed. May You, Lord Jesus, be glorified in this girl and may we ask that it be through health and hope. I send love to your precious family and I will continue to approach the welcoming throne of grace for your baby. I ...Here's an update on Lydia's test today:
I just want to say thank you for everyone's kind words, love, and prayers on behalf of our Lydia. We DID do the bladder test this morning. Lydia had a very concerned look on her face the whole time, and whimpered occasionally. But she held pretty still and complied with everything. She impressed the socks off of her nurse and I was super relieved to not be holding her down the whole time. Everyone who takes care of Lydia, falls in love with her. We truly have a special little girl.
Unfortunately, Lydia did not pass this bladder test with flying colors. Despite increasing her bladder medication a month ago, her bladder pressures are still too high. If her bladder pressures continue to be this high, the urologist is worried about her kidneys. Ugh. So not what I wanted to hear today. Our first course of action will be to increase her medication again. If this doesn't help, the urologist said we can maybe increase it one more time. She wants me to be prepared that if this doesn't work, our next step is to cath Lydia more frequently. The thought of having to cath every 3 hours- well I actually can't think about it. Please please pray we don't have to do that.
The urologist also said she thinks Lydia's chronic UTIs are due to her increased bladder pressures and her constant poop problems. She thinks if we could keep her on some nice middle ground between being constipated and pooping all day long, then those might resolve. Well I would pay any amount of money to figure out what that magic formula is. She suggested we see a pediatric surgeon to see if they have any better ideas about managing Lydia's bowels. I'm still not clear on why they would be the ones to see about this, but I guess I'm willing to try anything.
One more thing. Some people have asked if Lydia is feeling better. She definitely has been feeling better today. However, throughout the day she has still stuck her hand between her legs and told me, "Owie, mommy. Owie, owie, owie." Of course she didn't do that at the doctor's office- that would be too much to ask for. smile emoticon Right now the doctor says she doesn't have a UTI, but doesn't have an explanation for why Lydia keeps doing this. So we still have lots to figure out.
Thank you again for all the support today. It definitely made the day easier to get through!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06375953347815246047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291356534079140277.post-52836005053504354972015-09-15T07:08:59.995-07:002015-09-15T07:08:59.995-07:00What 'spills out' to me is the amazing lov...What 'spills out' to me is the amazing love you have for Lydia and the deep and wonderful relationship you have with our great God!
